Resources for Current Students

i love teaching the same core repertoire to my fiddle students so that they all have tunes in common and can jam together.  Here are PDF files of some of these common fiddle tunes. 

I am the Music Director of the Fiddle Orchestra of Western Massachusetts. Our website includes audio files and PDF sheet music of our extensive fiddle tune repertoire and is a great resource for fiddle players.

Listening to tunes is the best way to learn by ear. This links to a large dropbox file of recordings I have made for fiddle students.  These recordings are far from perfect, but give a chance to hear the tune slowly and get it in your ear.  You may hear the dog barking or the baby babbling in some of the tunes! 

In the fall of 2020 I recorded a CD with my long time musical partner, the amazing cellist, Daniel Plane.  He has since moved away from Massachusetts, so this was a wonderful chance for us to play some of our favorite tunes together. 

This is a collection of handouts I have made for various workshops I have taught focusing on understanding and playing chords for fiddle tunes.
